OUR STORY

Express Telecommunications Inc. was founded in 2015 by Jarand Kennedy and Durrell Durham, both of whom were working for AT&T at the time, in its home security division called Digital Life. Prior to AT&T, Jarand had spent 8 years with Comcast (now Xfinity) as a service technician, lead tech, and part of the management team responsible for training new service techs. Meanwhile, Durrell had gained valuable experience working for Dish Network.

While working together at AT&T, we saw an opportunity to offer a more customer-focused solution by installing surveillance cameras that our customers owned outright, with no monthly fees attached. This idea resonated with inner-city and suburban customers alike, and it gave us a strong foundation for growth. We later expanded our services to include home security, home automation, TV mounting, home theater installation, audiovisual systems, and structured cabling.

Initially, we focused on small businesses and residential projects, aiming to provide cutting-edge technology with high quality, reliability, and personalized customer relationships. Over the past 9 years, we’ve experienced tremendous growth, particularly in the real estate development market. Today, we are proud to be a union firm and a minority-certified business. Looking ahead, we aim to expand further into the private and government sectors.
